Our history
Originally founded by Wilhelm Sorst, the SORST locksmith’s shop was split into two divisions in 1998.
Since then, Sorst Streckmetall GmbH has taken over the production of expanded metal and moved into its current premises in Wohlenbergstraße in the north of Hanover.
Today, as a medium-sized company with a team of around 65 employees, we manufacture almost 6,000 tons of expanded metal per year – from aluminium, steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, nickel, copper, titanium and much more – exclusively Made in Germany!
Our many years of experience with expanded metal cover a wide range of meshes: whether very small meshes, which we call micromesh, used for example in automotive or filtration applications, or very large meshes that can be used for architectural projects.
Suitable solutions for a wide range of industries and applications are our specialty.
Our technicians know that every market has its own rules and this is exactly the challenge we are looking for.
We have been part of the international and family-run company MEISER since July 2022. As a result, our sales network has expanded globally.
The personal and close contact with the international production sites and subsidiaries facilitates the connection to our customers all over the world.
That is why we look forward to expanding our expertise and our product development capabilities on a daily basis.
We accompany our customers from the idea to the finished product through personal and individual contact, regardless of the continent.
Every challenge is a further incentive for us to contribute our knowledge to a wide range of industries and develop innovative product solutions for our customers.
