Expanded metal is manufactured in several steps. First, metal plates or coils made of steel, aluminium, stainless steel or other metals are selected in the desired thickness and width.
In the next step, the raw material is clamped into the machine, where a knife cuts into the sheet in a transverse direction and stretches it at the same time. The material is evenly lengthened by the uniform feed and the expanded metal is created. This means that the surface area of the raw material can be increased many times over.
